Refining the Result

1/12/24

Finishing Touches

After I completed my website, I made sure that there were no simple grammar mistakes in any section. I learned how to effectively pace myself while doing my OW since timing was key. The rubric was quite vast and had specific requirements, which made the double-checking process somewhat tedious. I wanted to make sure my graphical analyses were thorough and correlated well with the text below. This modeling and changes were done by keeping hold of the idea that my OW was similar to a company: I had to offer "selling points" and information that was attractive to the readers. Throughout the polishing process, I not only removed simple mistakes I might have had in my OW but also larger mistakes that would give off the wrong idea to the audience.

Feedback

I had submitted my OW! It felt like an accomplishment. Although, when I received my grade back, I was confused. I was unaware I had to input parenthetical citations under the exact areas I had gotten from external sources and instead made a Works Cited page outside of my website, referring to all the external sources I used. Due to that slight hiccup, I had points taken off. This helped me learn the true value of professionalism and how website etiquette was significant. Citations were necessary and were required to be present under the exact work I take from the web, which is what efficiently respects the author of an external source. Through this learning process, I think I have benefitted myself by expanding my knowledge of online professionalism.

For the Future

To eliminate these mistakes from happening in the future, I would put these parenthetical citations beforehand under the external source's work to ensure the author receives the recognition they deserve. For my final product, I will organize my work properly and make my work readable and understandable. This will not only help me become a professional scholar for this ISM Program, but also for my future endeavors such as a college education and job experiences in the real world.
